Sports

All pupils at Grittleton House School have the chance to take part in a wide range of sporting activities, from swimming through the full range of schools sports to skiing in the winter months. Pupils take part in inter and intra school competitions and our fixture list includes local state and independent schools, including school’s sports leagues.

Activities

Sporting activities vary throughout the year. In winter pupils take part in rugby, football, cross-country, netball and hockey. In summer they enjoy playing tennis, rounders, athletics and cricket. All the major activities are offered as extra curricular sports for years 3 to year 11, including judo.

Facilities

We have extensive playing fields accommodating two full size rugby pitches, two full size football pitches, two grass hockey pitches, athletics track and field and a cricket square and practice nets. Our hard court areas include four tennis courts and an airdome, which caters for badminton, basketball and gymnastics. We have a swimming pool on site and swimming is an important aspect of the sports curriculum. Pupils will learn to swim, as well as compete, from pre-prep right through to Year 11. We have countywide recognition as a top venue for cross-country events and host the Wiltshire Cross Country Championships.

Pupils can take a GCSE in Sport.
