A prep school (preparatory school) is a school, for children between the ages of 7 and 11, generally preparing pupils for senior school.

What is a Pre Prep or Pre Preparatory School?

A pre prep (pre preparatory school) is a school, and for children below the age of 7, generally preparing pupils for prep or preparatory school.

What is a Boarding School?

A Boarding School is a school where pupils live in during term time.

A private school where students are lodged and fed as well as taught on a non-permanent basis.

What is Ofsted?

Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Service and Skills) is a government department that inspects and regulates institutions in England providing education to learners of all ages and providers of care for children and young people.

Ofsted inspect or regulate the following services:
Childminders, Full and sessional daycare providers, out of school care, crèches, all state maintained schools and some independent schools.

What is SEND?

SEND – Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND).  The SEND department supports pupils with additional learning needs throughout their time at the school. The SEND co-coordinator offers support in a number of ways: one to one sessions, group work or in pairs. Individual education plans are compiled to provide learning support where it is needed.  This also covers the special educational needs of gifted and talented children.

What is a private school?

A private school is established and controlled privately.

What is a Co Educational School?

A Co-Educational School (Co-Ed) is a school that is of mixed sex, suitable for boys and girls.

What is a Primary School?

A primary school is where children receive the first stage of compulsory education. Children generally attend primary school from around the age of 4 or 5 until the age of 11 or 12.

What age can my child attend Pre-Prep?

Children commence pre-prep school from the Autumn Term of the year that they turn 5.

What age can my child attend Prep?

Children commence prep school in the Autumn Term of the year they turn 7.

What age can my child attend Senior School?

Children commence senior school in the Autumn Term of the year they turn 11.
