Meet the Team
Our teaching staff are dedicated educators with a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills. They are motivated to meet the needs of each pupil they teach, with a clear focus on understanding and appreciating each young person as an individual. Our small class size means pupils receive support tailored to their needs and abilities.
The school is run by an enthusiastic and committed team, which includes members of our founder’s family. Their aim is to ensure the smooth day to day running of the school, as well as guiding the continued success of the school.
Headmaster
The Headmaster Nathan Dawes attended Brunel University College, an institution with a notable history of high sporting achievement by its undergraduates, where he graduated in Sports Science. Nathan played rugby for the University that culminated in representing England students in his final year there.
Following his graduation he took a PGCE in teaching, specialising in PE.
Before Nathan came to Grittleton House School he taught at St Benedict’s School in Ealing, an independent school with an exceptional reputation for sport, especially rugby. Whilst at St Benedict’s he oversaw the PE and sports department.
Nathan is married to Vicky and they have three lovely children, Sam, Emily and Josie. Another much loved member of the family is Tikka the Labrador.
Nathan loves living in such a stunning rural location which he says ‘Beats living under the Heathrow flight path in West London’. He still enjoys most sports, particularly team sports, goes running when his body lets him, and plays five a side football weekly but his true love is rugby. He used to play the game but now survives watching Bath at the Rec and England when he can.
