Fundraising by Pupils
All pupils at Grittleton House School are encouraged to participate in fundraising activities so they can appreciate what they have and to understand that they possess the ability, even from a young age, to help others and to make a difference.
Charities such as Marie Curie, Prospect Hospice, Macmillan, Swindon’s GWH Brighter Futures Appeal, Jeans for Genes, Hearing Dogs, Farm Africa and Wiltshire Air Ambulance have all benefited from the pupils’ hard work.
During their final year at Grittleton House School, our Year 11s decide which charity (or charities) they will be raising money for. It is usually due to personal experiences and they take this job very seriously and work extremely hard throughout their final year at Grittleton. For the 2015/16 school year, our Year 11 students have chosen to raise money for MIND and the British Heart Foundation.
Our annual school Spring Fair – held in April – open to all pupils and parents/friends is a huge fundraising opportunity. A beautiful sunny day with lots of stalls and games and lovely cream teas – the activity that raised one of biggest amounts of the day was throwing wet sponges at teachers (an opportunity they don’t normally get!).
