Weekly School Newsletter – 6 May 2016
Dear Parents,
It has come as a relief that the weather has improved this week and is set to be fair over the weekend. It has provided a great opportunity for many of the children to go outside and explore the grounds without getting caught in a hail storm!
There is a continuing trend for senior school boys to get their hair cut with very short back and sides with a contrasting long fringe. Our guidelines for boys’ haircuts are quite straightforward, they are; short back and sides (not shaved). Steps or lines are not allowed and the fringe should not hang over the eyes. If your son is requesting to have an extreme hairstyle please wait until the summer holidays when there will be ample time for their hair to grow back in time for the September return. Girls should tie their hair back and wear simple stud earrings (if they have their ears pierced!). You support in this matter, as always, is very much appreciated.
Exams
The Prep school will start their end of year exams on Monday 9th May with the senior school starting on Wednesday 11th May. The exams will be followed up with you receiving a written report initially as well as a parents’ evening later in the term. Once the exams are over the staff and pupils will get stuck into their next unit of study right up to the end of term.
Visiting author
On Friday morning we welcome Lottie Prentice in to the Nursery and Pre-preps. Lottie was an accomplished horse-rider and member of the British equestrian team before turning her hand to writing story books for children. Following the huge success of her debut book, she has written an exciting new series for children which she is looking forward to sharing with us.
